Traffic is being redirected, a high street and proper town centre are underway, the shopping centre is due a major overhaul and parks and leisure facilities will create an exciting new community in central London, making it the go-to place for anyone looking for property for sale or rent in Elephant & Castle.

Where once stood the vast 1970s Heygate Estate, home to more than 3,000 people, Elephant Gardens is being created, with 1,300 new homes set around a two-acre park dotted with trees, as well as retail and office space. Strata SE1 was another major project, its 43-storey tower offering spectacular city views and its own integrated wind turbines.

The London Southbank University and London College of Communication campuses can be found here and the cultural hub of the South Bank is just a short stroll to the north.

Transport links are another major plus point for the area with the National Rail station, which also services the Bakerloo and Northern Underground lines.

The Imperial War Museum and the Cinema Museum top the list of the best things for a family to do in Elephant and Castle, while young singletons flock to the Ministry of Sound nightclub. These cultural hotspots, together with a vibrant mix of bars near ‘The Elephant’, make it a fantastic place to live. For families, there is a good selection of primary and secondary schools in the area.
