Imperial College, South Kensington

Imperial College is a prestigious university, established in 1907 by Royal Charter, with a focus on science, technology, medicine, and business. Formerly part of the University of London before becoming independent in 2007, the main campus in South Kensington is close to other educational and cultural sites, such as the V&A, Science Museum and Royal Albert Hall, and is where most of the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching takes place. Alumni include 14 Nobel Laureates.

Richmond, American International University of London

Founded in 1972, The American International University has two campuses: Kensington and Richmond, Surrey, and awards US degrees from the American state of Delaware. This makes it a popular choice for US expats living in the area. The university offers a range of undergraduate level degree course in business, economics, political science, international relations, media, the arts and humanities.

The London Oratory School

Founded in 1863 by the Fathers of the Oratory, The London Oratory School is one of England's oldest and most distinguished Catholic state-funded boys’ schools. The secondary school on Seagrove Road, takes pupils aged 7 to 18, as well as girls aged 16 to 17 for the sixth form, and is renowned for its choral and instrumental performances. It’s educated a number of senior politicians’ children, including those of former prime minister Tony Blair.

Kensington Park School

Kensington Park School is an independent day and boarding school for pupils aged 11 to 18. It’s co-educational and offers a broad curriculum, with links to renowned sports facilities across west London. The lower school is located in Kensington Gardens while the sixth form is located opposite the Natural History Museum.

Lady Margaret School

Established in 1917, Lady Margaret School is an all-girls' Church of England secondary school in Fulham, attracting pupils aged 11 to 18. The school was awarded specialist school status as a mathematics and computing College in September 2003 and became an academy in September 2012. Alumnae include TV personality and chef Nigella Lawson and journalist and presenter Janet Street-Porter.

Situated in the grounds of the old Fulham Lodge, which was pulled down in 1847, the school, founded in 2001, is known for its considerable outside space, mini tennis courts, well-established trees and village school atmosphere.

Kensington Prep School

Kensington Preparatory School is an award-winning independent day school for girls aged 4 to 11 based in Fulham. Established in 1873 in Kensington, the school moved to Fulham in 1997 where it has continued to flourish and ‘grow great minds.’ Alumnae include suffragette campaigner, Emily Wilding Davison and Madeleine Albright, the former US Secretary of State from 1997 to 2001.

L’Ecole des Petits

Situated in Fulham, L’Ecole des Petits is a bilingual school that caters for up to 130 aged 3 to 6. Founded in 1977 by a French teacher, Mme Otten, the school moved to its current location in 1991 with Mme Otten promising to create a ‘home from home’ atmosphere for pupils. In 1995, the school became the first independent nursery school in the UK to be officially recognised as an Ecole Homologuée by the French Ministère de l’Education Nationale.
